Directions to Plaxtol

Although it nestles in the quiet rolling hills of the North Downs, the village of Plaxtol is conveniently close to major road and rail links to London and Dover, and thus to the rest of Britain and Europe. Despite its nearness to the motorway system, Plaxtol feels, and sounds, like the quiet Kentish village it has always been.

Once in Plaxtol, you will find that 'The Street' (on which Periwick Barn is situated) runs West to East.

At the western end, The Street forms a T–junction with Church Hill (at the top of which is the church, not surprisingly). At this junction you will see the butcher's shop. Go down the hill directly opposite the butcher's. This is The Street. After about a hundred yards you will pass the village shop / post office on your left. After a further hundred yards you will come to an old–fashioned street light on the right. The entrance to Periwick Barn is directly opposite this, on the left.

Coming the other way, that is to say from the East, you will see at the edge of the village a small triangular green, known as 'The Spout', with a 'Plaxtol' sign on top of a tall post. From here, carry on uphill, along The Street. You will pass the Papermakers Arms on the left. After a further hundred yards you will see an old–fashioned street light on the left. Periwick Barn is directly opposite this, on the right.
